Slade Pearce with Scott
From 2000-2008, he was the head of the Drama Department at Scott Sedita Acting Studios. He also directed two very well received productions for Athena Theater including “How I Learned to Drive” by Paula Vogel, where reviewplays.com noted that he used “the material insightfully, directing with stylish restraint”. This was followed by “The Shape of Things” by Neil Labute, of which Metro LA,said he “did a masterful job with the performers and with the pacing”.
Scott has also directed and starred in several short films.
As a teacher and coach, he has worked with hundreds of actors including many on Broadway, TV and Film. He teaches a dynamic fusion of the techniques handed down from Stanislavski, Adler, Strasberg and Meisner. His approach sets fire to the actor’s imagination, while opening them up to the unlimited possibilities in creating a role. Actors like Pacino, Duvall, Streep, Day-Lewis and Dustin Hoffman are actors that use not only themselves but their imaginations and the world around them when they create their meticulous characterizations.
Scott also created and directed the production of “Disorder” an evening of original scenes and monologues written and performed by his students. A version of “Disorder” of this can be seen here.
He also taught a class on character development for AFTRA that culminated with a performance entitled “Broken Spokes” and will be teaching a two-week comedy workshop for AFTRA in September. Scott is finishing his Masters in Counseling at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
The truth is that we have the power to manifest our abundance and our success.
